Introducing EU data center hosting option

Update (26th February 2024)

The deployment of our new server at AWS' Ireland data center has been postponed by one week. The new launch date is set for Sunday, March 10, 2024.

This delay is attributed to the ongoing influx of migration requests from our customers to transition their data to the EU data center. Consequently, we have adjusted the deadline for migration requests to Friday, March 1, 2024.

Introduction

In a continuous effort to enhance our services and cater to the evolving needs of our customers, we are thrilled to announce the launch of our new server in AWS’ Ireland data center on March 3, 2024. The new AWS Ireland data center is equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure, promising improved performance, reliability, and scalability. Migrating to this advanced environment ensures our customers benefit from the latest technological advancements and comply with regulations to host data in the EU region.

Migration Opportunity

As part of this exciting development, we are extending a unique and exclusive opportunity for all our customers currently hosted on our US data center. We understand the importance of a smooth transition, and to facilitate this, customers have the chance to migrate their data to the Ireland server. This migration can be done only once & this one-time opportunity is available until February 15, 2024.

Migration Deadline: Customers interested in migrating their data must inform us of their decision by February 15, 2024. This deadline ensures a seamless transition process, allowing our team to allocate resources and support for a hassle-free migration. The actual data will be migrated on the midnight of March 2, 2024. Both the US and EU servers will be offline for a few hours during this migration.

No Reversal Option: Once the migration is completed, customers will be unable to revert to the old data center. It is essential for customers to carefully evaluate their requirements and make an informed decision before the specified deadline.

Email sales@celoxis.com or your account manager if you wish to migrate.

FAQ

Q1: We'd like to remain hosted in the USA. What should we do?
A1: If you prefer to remain hosted in the USA, there's no action required on your part. Celoxis will continue to operate as usual, and you can carry on using the platform without any changes.

Q2: Is there a charge for migrating to the EU server?
A2: There is a one-time cost of $399 associated with migrating to the EU server.

Q3: Can I decide to migrate after the cut-off date?
A3: Unfortunately, the migration opportunity is a one-time offer, and decisions must be made before the cut-off date. Once the deadline passes, it will not be possible to initiate the migration process.

Q4: What if we request migration after the cut-off date?
A4: If a migration request is made after the cut-off date, it will not be possible to move your data to the EU server. In such cases, you would need to open a new account on the EU server and manually export and import your projects. However, please note that not all data may be transferable, so it's crucial to make the decision before the deadline.

Q5: Will we still be able to use Celoxis in our preferred language after migrating to the EU server?
A5: Yes, there will be no changes to the language options within the Celoxis application. The only difference will be the URL for accessing the EU server. The transition will be seamless, and you can continue using Celoxis in your preferred language without interruption.

Q6: What is the advantage to moving to the EU data center?
A6: The EU data center is meant for those organisations who need or prefer to have data residency within the EU. Due to the various laws it might make sense for organisations with primary place of businesses within the EU to move the EU data center. However we suggest consulting with your legal team to make an informed decision.
