Could you track those tasks in action items?

There is a capability to track action items and assign resources to them.  I was wondering if this feature would help you accomplish what you were trying to do?

I can see a use case for this request.

Often we are adding tasks to a project for organizational purposes - with scheduled start/ends not yet ready to be specified. currently these get added by default to the date/time they are inserted into a project. This is cumbersome as often we are adding 100+ tasks that havent yet been scheduled - but are required to be present for information data flow. Having these tasks inserted in this manner distorts the health of the project, or other attributes since parent tasks feature attributes that are accumulative calculations based on children.

If tasks that do not have dates do not contribute to their parent calculations (actual % complete, planned start/finish etc ) that would be very helpful.
