V15 is a complete rewrite of our UI/UX and also comes with new functionalities. To help you get started, we’ve included a quick guide on how to access new preview Sandbox environment.
Our Story
The UI/UX was a challenge. We wanted to give it a modern and fresh look, yet not lose on productivity.
Most “good-looking” UIs look good because of use of the white space. Ours being an enterprise app, use of screen real estate was important. And we did a lot of data analysis to see what our users were doing.
A lot of our competitors are kind of lookalikes and we were told to be like them. But when you start using them you could see how much clicking and scrolling you have to do.
As the great man once said - design is not how it looks it is how it works. Yes, we’ve paid attention to aesthetics as that’s the first impression but we think we have done a great job in terms of UX and we’d like you to tell us what you think.
We have also got in some frequently requested capabilities like gantt mode. You have already seen what we are going to get rid of in our earlier post. Please read if you haven’t.
A lot of features have been added that make the product easier to use e.g. a lot of people want to use our task scheduling features - they would want task dates to be changed when user goes on vacation or when predecessor slips but they don’t want to be selecting “50%” or “100%” for users and don’t want the duration, effort and resources to change on their own - they are not that “MS Project” savvy - yes, we have done something for them!
So we hope you like what you see and we’d like to hear what you liked and what you didn’t.
🔷 Fresh UI/UX
Every square inch of the screen will be put to use. We know you want to get in and get out not click and scroll. It’s not a park.

🔧 New functionality in task management
- Null dates: Dates can now be null! So if you dont know a date but want to enter the item, that’s fine. No more irritation of asking for a date!
- Getting rid of % for resource allocation - for those who wish to use our scheduling logic but don’t want to specify the “units” for resources, we got you coveted. It’s like automatic transmission for your projects. Just select the Admin > Project Option > Distribute work equally amongst resources flag and we’ll take care of the rest. You also won’t be bothered by the “Fixed Effort/Duration/Units” complexities either.
-
Scheduling enhancements for manually scheduled tasks
You can now enter effort for manually scheduled tasks. You can also handle the following scenarios:-
- I know the dates and the effort for a task, let Celoxis figure everything else out.
- I know the dates and how much a resource works daily on a task, let Celoxis figure everything else out.

I strongly dislike (borderline hate) this update.
There is enough here in this update that I would be convinced to look elsewhere for our PM software.
The Task Edit window is very poor, why is this not the same edit which you get form the view window?
The view pane does not maintain its size (as it did with previous UI), this will be extremely frustrating and a huge backward step.
Re-scaling of charts when data is filtered out is a welcome change.
In cell editing of names in a dashboard is probably very dangerous and many users will change names in error? can this be switched off and click the name as a shortcut to open the view pane as per the current UI?
When you create a timesheet, the Create window remains open (this is a bug)
We can no longer see the ID of a Task or App Item? Can this be added in as we use that to communicate specific tasks or items within the business.
